River Gem Café:

Our delicious home-made breakfast is served between 7:30 and 9 am in the beautiful café-style dining room. Four, colorful tables grace the dining area, creating a charming space in which to snack or work. A mini-fridge and microwave are available for guest use throughout the day.

Coffee, tea, orange or apple juice, fruit, homemade granola, and  yogurt  are always available for breakfast. Depending on the season and the requests of the guests, the gourmet menu may include French toast, Irish oatmeal, eggs, quiche, crepes, waffles,  sausage, ham or bacon, pancakes, muffins, or croissants.

As the innkeepers strive to serve food locally grown and seasonally fresh, the breakfast menu may include ingredients from the organic backyard garden, including tomatoes, peppers, onions, radishes, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, chard, arugula, rosemary, basil, dill, parsley, sage, cilantro, mints, and scrumptious figs.

The bakers provide fresh pastries made from scratch, such as buttery croissants (plain, almond, or almond-chocolate), muffins (banana chocolate chip, raspberry nut, and whole orange), French macarons, or Italian biscotti.  In addition, the innkeepers delight in providing mouth-watering refreshments for afternoon tea upon arrival.

Freshly-brewed morning coffee is prepared daily, while a Keurig coffee-machine is available on the second-floor landing for pajama-clad early risers. Loose-leaf specialty tea is offered in a variety of delicious flavors including black, green, white and herbal selections.

Furthermore, guests with dietary preferences will be glad to know that, with advanced notice, vegetarian or vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free foods as well as low cholesterol and low sugar selections will be prepared to ensure your dining experience is enjoyable.
